Kingsdown School in Swindon has a history dating back to the 1930s but was now looking tired. With the appointment of a new Headteacher and a fresh vision, Kingsdown School commissioned a complete rebrand as part of a drive to build respect, boost its reputation and, of course, increase enrolment.
Rye Design were called on to create a new brand styling that worked across the school from the student's uniform to site signage. The brief was to create a fresh and bold style that both pupils and staff would be proud of – with one consideration to develop a new, contemporary lion as the school badge.
The Kingsdown lion has been given a new lease of life and is now presented in a cleaner graphic style. His silhouette head creates a uniquely identifiable logo for Kingsdown that retains the traditional characteristics of courage, pride and strength in a contemporary style for future generations.
