Strood Academy is a school in Medway, Kent. It was newly established to provide secondary education for 1500 students, and once ground had been broken on new buildings the school looked to develop a new visual identity and strong brand style.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Academy sponsor, the University of the Creative Arts, Rye Design worked on the creative for a new brand for the school that would have a contemporary, 'grown-up' identity and position the school in the local community.
The favoured badge for Strood Academy was a fluid hand-drawn 'S' representing the River Medway on which Strood sits. The dark blue and contrasting cyan palette help give the identity a business-like quality and the school a unique brand on which to develop its presence.
